Ethical Policy

At The Pink Gecko, we are committed to:

- working with the same suppliers year after year so that their businesses develop alongside ours.
- paying a fair price for our products that reflects the detail and the craftsmanship involved
- ensuring that our suppliers pay their workers a fair wage and support good working conditions
- ensuring that our suppliers never use child labour
- visiting our suppliers and if possible our craftspeople in Kenya every other year. We visited  most recently in April 2018. 
- giving a proportion of our profits back to the communities from which our products are sourced. In 2011,we donated half our profits to Freedom from Fistula. In 2012, we sponsored our first Kenyan child through school. In 2013, we started to sponsor a second child. In August 2014, we began lending to African entrepreneurs via Lendwithcare. Since then, the Pink Gecko and Friends lending team has lent over £1000 to over 270 entrepreneurs!
